Want Clarity? Need Answers? Steep in the Eternal.

Let me ask you a question: how often do you do nothing? And I mean nothing, for the sake of nothing.

Not 20 minutes on the subway or napping or taking a poo without a newspaper, but rather scheduled time with you and you alone, soaking in the sacred silence. Silence for the sake of silence.

If you're like most people it’s very little.

We’re the modern generation, constantly on the go. Our phones and screens and timelines constantly tug at us for attention. We're constantly DOING (often just for the sake of doing).

And we wonder why our creativity gets plugged. We wonder why we feel lost, scattered, confused, aimless. Human beings aren’t meant to be bombarded constantly with screens and stimuli - rather we come from a world where we walked barefoot on the forest floor. All this static is new for us as a species, and we pay a grand price for it.

Clarity From Silence. Insight from Solitude.

Sacred solitude and sacred silence are rare moments for most men these days.

Sacred solitude and sacred silence are rare moments for most men these days. And yet that's where the magic happens. It's where priorities fall into place. It's where clarity is found. It's where self connection and creativity come into your experience.

Every time I become lost or in disarray, silence is the perfect remedy.

I say give less time to learning from books, and more time receiving from the mystery of sacred solitude. Drink in from that rare and profound source. Start with just 10 minutes a day.

(Don't worry, your Facebook will still be there waiting for you when you finish.)

As the Buddhist quote goes, "Don't just do something, sit there."
